‘Foul → Vital price → Video reading → Strikeout’ A 24-year-old rookie’s absurd strikeout… “The strangest debut strikeout”

Arizona Diamondbacks rookie right-hander Slade Czechani (24) struck out for the first time in his unforgettable major league debut.

Czechoni made his major league debut as a starting pitcher in a game against the San Francisco Giants held at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California on the 3rd (Korean time). His performance before his debut was not bad with 4 hits, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts and 2 runs in 4⅔ innings. The game ended with San Francisco winning 4-2.

Czechoni, who was nominated in the 2020 Rookie Draft Balanced Competition Round (33rd overall), is a prospect ranked 9th in Arizona in the MLB.com prospect rankings, the official major league media. He is a pitcher whose fastball speed is not fast, but his control is good and his slider is highly regarded.

In the bottom of the first inning, facing lead batter Wade Lamonte Jr., Czechini threw four-seams at 94.8 miles (152.6 km) on the inside of the 6th pitch with 3 balls and 2 strikes. The ball seemed to bounce off Lamonte Jr.’s body, and the referee declared the ball a hit. Lamonte Jr. also made a gesture to go to first base right away.먹튀검증

However, Arizona disagreed with the ruling and requested a video review. A video review revealed that Czecconi’s ball bounced off Lamonte Jr.’s bat. The decision was corrected for a foul.

Coincidentally, however, the ball hit by Lamonte Jr.’s bat struck catcher Jose Herrera between his stomach and groin. Although Herrera was in pain, she did not miss the ball and caught it well. Lamonte Jr. struck out on a foul tip because the catcher caught the foul ball. Checconi was able to strike out for the first time in his major league debut.

MLB.com said, “Pitchers always remember their first major league strikeout. However, Checconi caught his first strikeout, which is even more unforgettable.”

After striking out Lamonte Jr., Checconi walked Michael Conforto and struck out Wilmer Flores again. Checconi’s second strikeout was an ordinary swinging strikeout by throwing 95.8 miles (154.2 km) on the 6th pitch in a 1-ball, 2-strike situation.
