Gangwon FC defender Kim Young-bin has been named Player of the Month for May.
Gangwon FC’s stalwart defender Kim Young-bin has been selected as the Gangwon FC Player of the Month with Kang Won-woo. Four players, 메이저놀이터 Kim Young-bin, Yoo Sang-hoon, Yoon Seok-young, and Jung Seung-yong, were nominated based on their performances in league matches in May, and voting was held on Gangwon FC’s YouTube channel for three days from May 2 to 4. Out of the four nominees, Kim Young-bin was selected as the Player of the Month with 41% of the votes.
Kim played the most minutes in May, playing 484 minutes in five matches. He played an important role in the team’s defense in difficult situations. Before the start of the home game on May 11, fans wearing Kim Young-bin’s jersey personally presented him with the “May Player of the Month with Kangwon Hanwoo” award. The player of the month will receive a set of Korean beef and a trophy from Kangwon Hanwoo, the national beef cattle of Gangwon Province.
Kim Young-bin said, “Receiving the award from the fans makes me feel like I should have done better. I will take it as a sign to do better and do my best,” he said, adding, “I will do my best in the remaining matches so that I can give joy to the fans who always support me.”
Meanwhile, Gangwon FC, which concluded its home game against Chuncheon, will host Gwangju in the 21st round of the Hana One Q K League 2023 on March 7 at Gangneung Sports Complex.
