Panoni’s first win + Sanchez’s long hit allowance decreased… KIA substitute pitching duo ‘soft landing’

KIA Tigers replacement foreign players are fighting hard every day. The precipitation that changed two people a day is seeing the effect.

KIA won 6-3 in the third game of the weekend’s three-game series against the Lotte Giants in the 2023 KBO League held at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on the 30th, and recorded 40 wins, 1 draw and 42 losses in the season, rising from 7th to 6th place. Lotte won all 3 consecutive games and rode an upward trend. They won 4 out of 6 matches last week (4th week of July).

The spearhead of the 6th place recapture was starting pitcher Thomas Panoni. He pitched 6 2/3 innings, giving up no runs on 5 hits, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. As far as the firepower of the other ships, he completely overpowered the competitive Lotte other ships. There was only one hit in a row, and after two outs in the second inning, he continued the streak of 11 hits in a row.

Panoni joined KIA at the end of the first half. He made his first appearance against the Samsung Lions on the 12th, giving up 2 runs in 4 innings. Even against the NC Dinos on the 25th, which was his first appearance in the second half, he pitched 5 scoreless innings. In the match against Lotte, he played the most innings and did not give up any runs.

Panoni originally joined the KIA as a substitute for Ronnie Williams last season. He contributed to KIA’s advancement to the postseason (PS) (5th place) by posting an earned run average of 2 (2.74) in 14 games. He was one of the most outstanding pitchers in the second half.

Ahead of this season, KIA gave up on renewing the contract with Panoni under the motto of recruiting a right-handed pitcher who throws a fast ball. But when Sean Anderson and Adonis Medina fell short of expectations, they reached out to Panoni again. 먹튀검증

Panoni, who came back, said that he was also disappointed at the failure to renew the contract with KIA. He also expressed his determination to show his value again this year. He showed ‘salty pitching’ by giving up only 2 runs, stopping 15 and 2/3 innings in 3 games.

Thomas Sanchez, who made his debut before Panoni, also made a soft landing. Sanchez, who was holding the top spot in the ERA in the Taiwan Professional Baseball League, recorded 2 wins and 1 loss with an ERA of 4.00 in the 3 games he started. He scored 1 run in 6 and 1/3 innings against KT Wiz on the 9th, his debut game, and 4 runs in 6 and 2/2 innings against Doosan Bears on the 21st. In the NC match on the 26th, which was the most recent appearance, he scored 3 runs in 5 innings.

In both of his first two games, he showed his strength by recording double-digit strikeouts. However, he also showed anxiety in the latter half of the game, leading to a long hit. There were only three home runs.

However, in the NC game on the 26th, strikeouts decreased, but there were no home runs. Above all, Sanchez showed aggressive pitching, giving only one walk in 18 innings.

KIA won 4 wins (2 losses) in 6 games with Panoni and Sanchez on the mound. With strong foreign pitchers joining, young domestic starting pitchers such as Eui-ri Lee and Young-cheol Yoon are showing a sense of stability and less pressure.
