The South Korean women’s national basketball team is on its way home from a training camp in Latvia. The results of the second exhibition game were bad.
On Nov. 11 (KST), the Korean 메이저놀이터 women’s basketball team lost their second exhibition game against Latvia 50-76 at Riga Arena in Riga, Latvia. The team trailed 50-56 after three quarters, but failed to score a single point in the fourth quarter and gave up 20 unanswered points.
South Korea also lost its first exhibition game on Tuesday, 60-82. Both games ended in blowouts. The numbers weren’t pretty. They shot 26.6 percent from the field. They shot 28.2% from two-point range and 24% from three-point range. Either Latvia’s defense was good or South Korea’s shooting was atrocious.
South Korea was led by Park Ji-Soo with 11 points and five rebounds in 13:53. Kang Isul added 10 points, including three 3-pointers. After returning home, Korea will regroup and continue preparations for the 2023 FIBA Asia Cup, which will be held in Sydney, Australia, from July 27 to August 2. They are in Group A with China, New Zealand and Lebanon. The top four finishers will qualify for the final qualifying round for the Paris Olympics next February.
